Hi Ryan,
In-kind sales were extended for only one year. However, auction sales from the reserves continue every year indefinitely. The law also provides for in-kind sales to resume if the auctions are suspended. See
http://www.law.cornell.edu/uscode/text/50/167d
It seems that the auction sale is split between AirGas and Praxair. Linde has their own independent supply from Qatar.
Cheers, -Hirsch

Subject: AMMRL: Helium
Dear All,
Regarding the previous helium crisis, are we in for another round of helium-crisis this year? My understanding was that the US congress only extended the production one year and therefore we're going to be in the same boat this year? Anyone know?
Thanks,
Ryan
