Dear Mike,
thanks for the bit of clarification - in that case it would be a bit odd if
the RXAD can be talked to by Unitool *through* the DRU (it is required to
be connected and I get an error when talking to aqs/SBSB16 while the DRU is
unplugged from ethernet) but the DRU cannot be talked to by Unitool…
Actually the AV3 hardware manual says "The boards within the AQS that are
directly accessible via Unitool are: SGU, REF, RXAD, internal amplifiers."
So I think we shouldn't get the syntax errors from the REF1 and AMP (but
maybe DRU
In the end our main problem is the failure of "cf" during HPPR detection -
which may or may not have to do with these errors…
In the meantime I tried out a couple of more things:
- swapped to the second ethernet card in the (Windows) computer
- swapped the PSD3 card
- checked all power supplies in the backside for any defective or almost defective
capacitors (measured ESD of all of them - all look OK)
- all power supply LEDs are green
- tried to start the console with super basic setup (unplugged both SGUs,
unplugged IPSO from ethernet and still got the Unitool syntax error from REF1 but
connection OK to RXAD) - just to see whether some board "eats" too much power
- reduced HPPR stack to one single preamp
- reinstalled Topspin (3.7.0)
So far to no avail - cf is still stuck at the detection of the last HPPR/2
module (now the only module = P1)
Cheers
Bert
