Dear AMMRLers,

We have a Bruker 800 Ultrashield Plus, controlled by a BMPC with an attached
GE LP11-8 UPS. We need to troubleshoot the UPS; we suspect there may be an
internal fan not working and we also need to change the batteries in the main
UPS and battery bank. All the written documents about UPS troubleshooting and
replacing batteries require that the UPS be shut down. This will require us to
power down the BMPC and pumps which we want to avoid at all costs. I'd also like
to avoid hot swapping the batteries without having some pretty clear precedent
for this being the best way to do things.

Does anyone have experience with troubleshooting a UPS powering a BMPC unit
that they can share? I'd be keen to hear whether anyone has run the pumps
from an independent power supply with the BMPC console being switched off.

Thanks in advance.

Regards,
Ian
