I haven't actually done this, and making the ancillary bits work might take
a bit of trial and error (Rajan mentioned NFS for example). You will almost
certainly need to install 32 bit libraries.

The main problem, however, is that the versions of diskless and flexLM in
TS 2.1 are way too old. From notes I have, the versions in TS 3.2pl7 will
work with CentOS 7. I'm fairly sure I've heard similarly about versions in
TS 3.5pl7. So you start with the newer Topspin that can't run your old
instrument, do a custom install of diskless and flexlm, then do a custom
install of TS 2.1 and deselect those packages.
