Hi Ken,

We've "Brukerized" several magnets with great success. Specifically we've
converted an Oxford 500/54, two 600/54's, and a 900. Two of the magnets are
running solution NMR 100% of the time, one solids 100% of the time, and the
900 has hybrid capabilities. The two dedicated solution magnets have autosamplers
installed, one with a SampleJet and the other with a SampleCase. In general
the procedure was straightforward and Bruker is quite experienced with it,
and we are quite happy with the results. All of our systems are running either
AVIII or AVIII HD consoles, but I wouldn't expect any particular problems
to arise from NEO consoles.

In almost every case we retained the original cryogen monitor unit and simply
keep an eye on it, rather than integrating it into the console/TopSpin. The
exception is the 500, which somehow has been successfully integrated with
TopSpin. I can ask around as to whether we know how it was done, but the
conversion was many years ago now. If I don't reply to you publicly, feel
free to ping me privately to remind me.

Best,
Alex

First, Can someone with a 400/54 Varian/Agilent (probably Magnex actually)
manget confirm that the helium sensor connects to the Black Plug?

Second, I'm curious about experiences converting Varian/Agilent magnets to
new Bruker systems? Have any of you had success with this?

Were you able to make things like N2 and He sensors work with their
software/consoles? Or do you fly blind with Helium after the conversion?

Specifically, we have 400/54 Premium Shielded Magnets.. (Magnex?)
