I would add it’s important to match your compressor and dryer to your
gas flows. Don’t forget to take into account the amount of gas flow that
is needed to run the PSA dryer. These dryers switch between desiccant towers
every 20-30 mins and run gas through the “offline” drying tower
to help flush out residual moisture. This is not insignificant. We found our
compressor was running a significant portion of the time just to supply gas
to the drying component not just to downstream instruments.
If you have house n2 it is a better solution.
Also I think cryoprobe specs are based on N2 as VT gas and not Air. You will
see a degradation in performance with air.

attached a picture of our setup below. If you attach an N2 separator in line
before your console, it’s essentially the same as having a building

Hello!
Many people that I know run their NMR off the nitrogen boiloff from a lN2 tank.
If that is a possibility for you, this will provide nitrogen with the required low dewpoint.
