Hi Todd,
We looked into this a few years ago. In discussion with the vendor site
planners, what we learned is that cryo-EMs have their own particular and
stringent set of requirements, particularly with respect to stray field.
At the time they were concerned about the 1 G line; maybe things have evolved.
Another concern was the permanent magnetization of EM parts from being near
the fringe field.
Vendors are usually willing to to do site assessments, and given the stringent
requirements for humidity and vibration, we'd strongly recommend a thorough
investigation of any potential space.
