Hi Jessica

good mini-splits are usually relatively quiet and will not introduce
vibrations. You should make sure the air is not directly blowing at the magnet.

Our specs for room temperature are anywhere between 17 and 25 C (62 - 77 F).
There is no specific spec for humidity but dew point is a consideration as
there are some colder parts of a NMR like the nitrogen stacks or the surface
of a cryoprobe. When the dew-point is above these temperatures you will
start to see condensation.

One often overlooked aspect is the performance of the operator. I for example
do not function that well when the lab is the mid-sixties and you always have
to bring a sweater to work on the instrument.

regards

Clemens

Hi everyone,

I am currently in the process of talking to vendors regarding potentially
installing a dedicated dehumidifier system and/or mini-split into the NMR
facility. I was wondering what folks in particularly humid settings use for
environmental stability? My biggest concern is whether these methods will
introduce undesirable vibrational noise to spectra or have other non-ideal
consequences.

Thoughts? And thank you so much in advance!

Cheers,
Jessica
