Actually that "emergency lift is active" is a reasonably common symptom of
an SPB failure.  Under normal operation if you have a cryoplatform, the
cryoplatform will output the emergency lift gas to the console.  There
is a sensor in the SPB that detects this airflow and routes it to the sample
lift.  The emergency port on the back of the console is an input.

You might try blowing some dry gas through the emergency input (you can connect
it to the back of the console, or directly to the board) and see if it does
any good, but it does sound like the board is failing.  This gas will
go through the lift lines so you can't really acquire data while you're doing
this unless you disconnect some other air lines...  Might be better to
just do it with no sample in the magnet.

And as I said below, one of the most common causes of SPB failures is moisture
in the compressed gas system.  If you haven't, I'd have a look at that
just in case.

 Hi Mike,

We tried using the dry gas, but unfortunately, the valve did not recover. We
have a sample case for automation. When we try to do a sample injection, we
encounter a BSMS error saying: "Lift command is not handled since the emergency
lift is active," even though the emergency lift is not actually active.

I think this error is related to the SPB board, especially if moisture has
gotten into it. To solve both of these issues, I believe we should replace
the SPB board.

Let me know your thoughts or if you have any further recommendations.
