There's not much I can add to this.
The specified hold time for the Prodigy is 10 days--so you should be able
to go a week between fills easily. If the transfer line vacuum is
getting soft this time will decrease.
And if you've got your own turbopump setup or equivalent you can definitely
pump it yourself, or there's a button in the prodigy service gui that will
let you pump the transfer line using the vacuum pumps in the Prodigy unit
if you warm up the probe. You just take the cover off the KF flange
on the transferline and connect the vacuum line from the PCU to it.
Then hit the button and it walks you through what you need to do--it gets
the pumps running and then tells you when to open the valve on the transferline.
After that let it pump (the manual says 3 hours I believe--I usually let
them pump overnight.) And then when you're done you can close the
valve and then turn the pumps off--let the turbo spin down before you
disconnect things--and then you can put things back and cool the probe
back down.
One more detail--when you disconnect the vacuum line from the probe, you
can leave the operator connected to the probe and just open the KF flange on
the vacuum line. That saves you having to remove and replace the operator.
