Hi Spinlanders,

I¡¯ve been volunteered to find a new home for a complete mouse imaging system we have here, although if anyone is interested in the magnet only that¡¯s a possibility. We¡¯re not trying to make any money, but whoever wants the system would be responsible for relocation costs. The system collected useful data within the last 2 weeks.

If you might be interested, or if you¡¯re not interested but know somebody who might be, please contact me directly. I¡¯ll include the system specs below along with my contact info at the end.

Cheers,
Andrew

4.7T mouse imaging system at University of Iowa

Magnet: Magnex MRBR 4.7T 160 mm bore, actively shielded, installed ~July 2004

SN hand scratched on plate, poorly legible, looks like 04*50

SN on gradients is 31314, also hand scratched

Magnex E5031 N2 level monitor - working

Magnex E7007 Emergency discharge - never used, probably working

Magnex E5011 He level monitor - not working

helium fill every ~5 months takes ¡Â250 L He transfer tube for fills is available

Console: Varian Inova imaging console, SN 011937, PPC CPU board

data board has 16 MB memory

XYZ gradient boards and (external) amplifiers with chiller

270 mT/m, 0.1 ms rise, 5% duty cycle at full power

high order shims not working (usually not used for imaging), suspected flash memory problem

current workstation is Sun Blade 2000, VnmrJ 1.1D

console can run from Linux box and VnmrJ 4.2

Probes: 4 probes/coils are available

Original Varian probe, widest coil, worked when last used 3 Doty probes, all working:

mouse head coil, 25 mm diameter x ~25 mm long mouse torso coil, 38 mm diameter x ~40 mm long mouse full body coil, 38 mm diameter and longer

Many of the original manuals are available as well.
