Dear Mike,
Our 400MHz nmr sits on 7th floor since 1995. It hasn't any problem for
resolution performance. Now, we are planning to relocate to 12 or 13
/F. So that I would like to have the summary to evaluation.
Best regards,

Mike and his colleagues have just received funding for a 400 MHz
instrument. They would like to install the instrument on the 4th floor of
their Science Building. They have had an initial survey of possible
vibration issues, which indicated that a standard vibration isolation
system should take care of any problems. They would like to hear back from
any users who have a 400 MHz NMR instrument installed on the 4th floor (or
above) of a Science building, in order to gather data on the effectiveness
of anti-vibration tables to stabilize the magnet sufficiently in these settings.
We have systems at UIUC on the 2nd floor, but nothing higher. We don't
have any vibration problems using vibration isolation, but definitely do
need the vibration isolation legs.
You can reply directly to Mike or to me. I'll post a summary if of
interest.
Vera
