We've used a variety of solutions. We have Tri-arc ladders. We've
also built some wooden steps for various purposes. When necessary, we
use the fiberglass and aluminum ladders (my least favorite choice as
I'm not always well balanced.

We have also used Cotterman ladders which work really well. The good thing
about their product is that it has guardrails for additional safety and
stability.
