Hi everyone,
Thanks for all the feedback.
For clarification, the He system is not installed yet, the NMRs were only tied
into the plumbing for it. To do this, they were supposed to plug it in to the
new check valve on the wall, but this apparently did not happen.
We have since untied them, as our install has now been delayed (again) until
mid-to-late May at the earliest. We just got this new delayed timeline yesterday.
When we untied them, the NMR in question did let off some back pressure, while
the JEOL 400 MHz right next to it did not (don't worry, we checked and it's
still a magnet and is functioning wonderfully). The old flow monitor has now
been tied back in and is reading significantly less than 10 cc/hr.
We'll place an order for some longer baffles.
Bert - Thanks for telling me where the 3D gradient shim tool is. The manuals
for VNMRJ wandered off before I got here.
I'm going to try the gradient shim tool today and will report back with the
results.
Many thanks,
