Thanks to all who answered my question so promptly. Although a
couple of people mentioned ADC overflow, the main culprit was the pulse
sequence. Instead of noesy, I should be using tnnoesy, which uses the
transmitter for presaturation. I ran a quick test, and I found my H2O
suppression had returned with no artefacts. The final proof will be
when the user sets up his experiment (I'm not a NOESY expert).
I also have received several suggestions concerning attaching a CDRW
drive to the SCSI port on the additional ethernet card. I will make a
summary and post later.
