I do not quite understand this comment. It sounds as if it is
dangerous to degas a 0.1% ethylbenzene sol'n.

I think that the splitting of the CHCl3 peak is not due to
alignment in the field but rather a Cl35/Cl37 isotope shift
which of course increases with field. This was first reported
by F. Anet et al. at 500MHz and T. Schaefer and R. Sebastian
at 300MHz about 10 years ago.
