Using TRIS

We need to (prefer to) use TRIS for some H2O experiments as the preferred
buffer. Since we are in H2O, the presumably exchangable -OD and -ND2 are wasted
by chemical exchange. Is there a cheaper source of -CD2 TRIS that anyone knows
of, or would it be reasonable/feasable to use non-deuterated TRIS at ~25mM with
~1mM protein? The TRIS protons would be easy to identify! What are the NMR
consequences of using TRIS as a buffer?
I would greatly appreciate any and all advice.
Thanks,
Dan Bearden
