NMR Unknown Samples for Teaching Purposes

Dear AMMRL Colleagues,
I have two questions for our group.
First, does anyone have suggestions for samples to use
as unknowns for structure determination via NMR (1H, 13C, DEPT
and COSY) in a first-year graduate course? The idea is that
the students are taught to run the NMR experiments, then given
the unknown and its molecular formula, then expected to run the
NMR exeriments on the unknown and then come up with it's struc-
ture. If there is interest in this question I will post a sum-
mary of responses to the group.
Second, this is not really NMR-related, but does anyone
know of individuals or companies that would be interested in pur-
chasing, or taking off our hands, three Stardent computers we
are no longer in need of? They are complete multiprocessor
systems, in nice cabinets, but they are not running at the mom-
ent.
Please reply to harwood@hugh.chem.uic.edu.
Thank you,
