While I prefer MO disks (especially in an NMR environment -
nothing much will happen to an MO if you forget that disk
in your pocket!), they are more expensive and a little
slower than magnetic media. I must agree with G. Pearson
that Zip (or Jazz) drive, with it's size, speed, and
perhaps most important,its a "de-facto standard"
makes it a nice backup solution for individuals.
There was supposed to be an inexpensive 4.3 gig MO drive
(Pinnacle Micro advertised it before it was available)
Anyone have one of those things?
(For long term system backups, I still prefer MO...)
