I believe that everyone benefits from vendor's immediate response to
questions, comments, misconceptions, etc., concerning their own products.
Informed people in those companies obviously know their latest product line
better than users of a particular model which may not even be what they are
selling today. But their commenting on their competitors products is very
seldom based on hands-on experience and is therefore simply gossip. I
believe that they serve their own purposes and will maintain far more
credibility by presenting the facts of their equipment which will
ultimately sell the best product anyway.
