In a way I agree with Rudi that Steve's response was at least in some part ill
advised. I can well understand however his instinct to respond as he did as
Shaw's post at least implied certain facts to be true. This is the reason that
my response to Jim Bell (and Steve) has and will be direct. I also understand
Bill Stevens' desire to see such responses and I would hope that Jim would
summarize and digest what he receives for the group, and in doing so try to
remove arguements which directly compare feature sets of the vendors'
instruments. I agree that this should not be a public forumn to argue the merits
of one or another instrument. If we want to get in multi cornered e-mail
arguements that's one thing but not on a distributed list.
