AMMRL: weak SGU output signals from an AV1 console

Hi,

after getting a very helpful hint to get plot0 running using Windows 10 as operating system,
maybe the same miracle is possible for a really strange hardware issue. :-)

The ill hardware: AV1 2-bay console
issue: output signal (both transmitter and LO) coming from both SGUs is too low by about a factor of 5 ... 10

Of course we changed the SGU. But inserted into another machine, the SGU is fine and the SGU coming from the other
machine shows the weak output signal.
Next try: REF-22
All output signals are fine as they have to be. To be sure, we took another REF-22 with no change of the weak output.

In principle that are all analog parts to generate the signal. The FCU generates digital signals only, nevertheless
we changed them with no success.

The next idea was a weak voltage coming from the power supplies. We changed them and you guess ...

There are not that much analog parts within the SGU. There is the digital analog converter, the upconverter,
which makes the final frequency in steps of 10 MHz using a funny signal (a mixture of 10, 20, 30, 40, ..... 1000 MHz)
coming from the REF-22 and the MULT attenuator. Unfortunately the BASH doesn't contain the electrical
scheme, which would provide a chance to isolate the background of the weak output signal.
The reason should not be located to the SGU, because both SGUs are affected and changing the SGU doesn't help,
as mentioned.

For the moment I am doing some guesswork, what else, except REF-22, power supply and FCU might influence
both SGUs to provide the weak output signal.

I forgot to mention: the amplitude of the output signals went down slowly in the couple of some months.

Greetings from Munich

Rainer
