NMR Application Scientist
The company:
Tecmag is an established magnetic resonance hardware manufacturer which has
been serving the NMR community for 35 years. Acorn NMR has been offering
customized NMR service for the last 28 years. Acorn was acquired by Tecmag
in 2019 with the goal of continuing to offer the same type of quality
services to new and existing customers.
The position:
We are looking for an NMR application scientist to oversee the NMR service
operation. Acorn NMR receives samples for analysis from companies engaged
in many different types of research. The successful candidate will work
with customers to provide NMR data directed toward solving a wide variety of
problems.
The position requires experience in small molecule NMR including structure
determination, working knowledge of organic chemistry, and good
communication skills.
Prior experience with JEOL and Varian/Agilent hardware is a plus.
The candidate will also be responsible for routine maintenance of
spectrometers and supervision of our application laboratory.
The location:
Tecmag/Acorn is based in Houston, TX. Our city is well known for being the
home of NASA and one of the largest medical center in the world. It offers a
vast array or entertainment venues and culinary experiences. Houston area
suburbs are home to some of the best school district in the United States
and the cost of living is low compared to most large cities.
