Hi,

I have a postdoctoral researcher position
available for a 3 year project to develop
magnetic resonance imaging methods to studying
electroplating in ionic liquids. I would be
grateful if you could pass this on to any
interested researchers.

Best wishes,
Melanie Britton

Post-Doctoral Research Associate
Magnetic Resonance Imaging of Electroplating in Ionic Liquids
University of Birmingham - School of Chemistry
Salary: £27,854 - £30,424

Applications are invited for a post-doctoral
researcher to work in the group of Dr. Melanie
Britton in the School of Chemistry at the
University of Birmingham. The project is to
develop magnetic resonance imaging (MRI)
techniques to investigate the behaviour of ionic
liquids during electroplating of aluminium and
zinc. The project is part of a collaboration with
Dr. Alison Davenport (School of Metallurgy and
Materials) and Prof. Karl Ryder at Leicester
University and is funded by the Leverhulme Trust.

Applicants should have (or be about to receive) a
PhD in magnetic resonance, or in a related area.
We are seeking candidates with expertise in
magnetic resonance imaging, but will also
consider researchers with experience in magnetic
resonance spectroscopy. Knowledge of pulse
programming, experimental chemistry and/or
electrochemistry is desirable. Interest in
developing novel MRI methodology is essential.

The post is for a period of three years, and is
available from 1 November 2013. Enquiries should
be made to Dr. Melanie Britton (email:
m.m.britton_at_bham.ac.uk or phone: 0121 4144391).
