Hello all -
Thank you so much for your advice regarding moving our VXR-300S while
at field. In the end, we decided not to move it (at all!) after we
were able to secure institutional funding for a new Varian 400MR. To
summarize the responses: about 3/4 of the responses indicated the
magnet could be moved at field (and in an elevator, provided it was
exactly centered, with nitrogen almost empty, and helium full), 1/4
strongly recommended NOT moving it alive (noting that the supercon
wires were held up by a single filament.)
We put the magnet to a well deserved rest two weeks ago, and parted
most of the console out to our longtime repairman.
However, I still have the following probes and manuals available for
interested parties:
Pictures are available at
http://facweb.furman.edu/~dsibley/nmritems/
~ 5 mm BB for VXR-300MHz
~ 10 mm BB for VXR-300 MHz
~ A set of 10 mm standard solutions
~ 5mm BB for Unknown Varian (It didn't fit in our spectrometer, and
nobody knows where it came from)
~ Complete set of Schematics for VXR-300
~ Installation, Commissioning Manual for VXR 200/300.
We're willing to part with these for the cost of shipping and
packaging; I can send it as early as tomorrow if you provide a FedEx
Account Number. Primarily undergraduate institutions will receive
priority - but we're willing to get rid of these to any interested
party. (If you feel inclined to give us a small donation, we wouldn't
say no!)
Cheers-
~David
