We just had a power glitch take down our host computer, 18 hr into a
36 hr 2D acquisition. Does anyone know how to continue the
acquisition, restarting from the next increment of the 2D. (Or can
definitively say it's not possible. ) This is on a Varian Inova;
(vnmr 6.1C). The Sun (Ultra 5) host computer went down; the RF
cabinet was unaffected.
After rebooting the Sun and re-establishing connection to the RF
console, giving an "ra" (resume acquisition) seemed to restart
acquisition. But when we transform the data no new FID's are being
added to the 232 increments that had been completed when the Sun went down.
Is there a way to set up an acquisition that will start adding the
233'rd FID to the 232 FID's already acquired?
Is there a way to set up an acquisition that will start with the
incremented d2 delay at the value of our 233'rd slice, then manually
add the new increments to the existing data?

--- Details:
After rebooting the Sun, the acqi window showed the correct count of
FID's acquired. Giving an "ra", the acqi window went to 'active',
but no pulses appeared on the remote status monitor. We found the
console terminal window repeating the message "Channel 2 on the
console is already connected to another process". (Did an "sa" and a
pair of "su acproc"s; same message repeated).
Resetting the controller (Motorola) in the RF cabinet (between a
pair of "su acproc"s) re-established the connection OK.
An "ra" then did restart acquisition -- the remote status monitor
shows pulsing; the acquisition status window shows FID's acquiring.
The acquisition seemed to be starting over (acquiring FID 1;
Completion Time, and Time Remaining 36 hr.)
If we transform the data, wft1d finds the 232 increments acquired
before the crash, but doesn't show any subsequent increments acquired
by the "ra".
?? Are the new increments in the accumulator, (or on /dev/null someplace?)
?? Is there a way to tell what delay is being used in the current
acquisition?
