Pfizer - a career unlike any other. Job Duties:
Preclinical MRI Expert. Daily operation of a Varian and Bruker MRI. Develop
MR imaging protocols for in vivo animal and ex-vivo biological specimen
imaging. MR pulse sequence development, selection of RF coil and design of
application-specific RF coils. Establish standard operating procedures for
use of the MRI, performance standards, data analysis and archival, and
validation of methods. Independent execution of studies within own or shared
project, working on multiple sub-projects in parallel. Supervise and coach
MRI technologists in projects development and execution. Coordinate
activities with veterinary staff for animal preparation, physiological
monitoring, intubation/ventilation/anesthesia, scan-synchronous ventilation,
and embryo and small animal perfusion with contrast agent and/or fixative.
Explore the potential applications of MRI in PGRD for facilitation of drug
development. Digital image processing with instrument-specific (Varian VNMR
and VNMRJ, Bruker ParaVision), general (ImageJ, Photoshop, LabVIEW, Matlab,
etc.), and specialized (SPM, AFNI, etc.) software. MRI instruments
maintenance and troubleshooting. Maintain laboratory records according to
corporate policies and perform imaging data archival. Qualifications:
Four years of experience in operating of high tech equipment, such as MRI or
NMR and possess basic computer programming skill. Familiarity with Bruker
and Varian MRI software/hardware and experience in handling of laboratory
animals is highly desirable.

-Advanced and growing knowledge of the area of MRI physics and applications
-Understanding of how MRI can be best utilized in disease characterization
-Ability to conduct collaborative research across a Global R&D organization
-Demonstrated ability to make educated decisions that frequently require
developing new options to solve moderately complex problems
-Be able to represent MRI data in a fashion, which is understandable by the
non-imaging expert, and have the technical knowledge to discuss design and
physics of the MRI system with manufacturers and engineers
-Digital image processing or graphical/visual programming skills
-Ability to analyze/process/summarize MRI data and perform statistic
analysis
