I get a 180 L dewar of high pressure liquid nitrogen. I use it to
supplement my compressed air for sample changes, but use 5 bar for body air
and SampleJet cooling on a 700 with a cryoprobe. Most weeks that dewar will
last 7-8 days.
When we had problems with compressed air, I swapped to a 230 L high
pressure dewar to serve all the gas needs for the 700 above and a 400 as
well. That dewar lasted only 2.5 days. The number of sample changes needs
to play a part in your calculations. My 700 was running a protein and
wasn't changing the sample. The 400 had multiple sample changes per day.
Several people have suggested the T to allow for a supplemental dewar. You
could also cut in a check valve to use one dewar first.
