Hi Jun
In principle yes. Due to similar issues with our house N2, we run a couple
spectrometers on high pressure tanks with regulators to limit the pressure
going into the spectrometer. If the tank runs low, you run the risk of an
emergency cryoprobe warmup. It can also be challenging swapping a near
empty tank for a full one without affecting cryoprobe operation.

< Subject: [AMMRL] high pressure liquid nitrogen tank to support prodigy probe during house nitrogen shut down

Hello All,

There will be a house nitrogen shutdown for 3 day in my building. To keep the
NMRs available for research, I am considering using high-pressure liquid
nitrogen tanks to supply three spectrometers with SampleCase: (1)NMR with
a IProbe and BCU I, (2) NMR with a Prodigy probe and BCU I, (3) NMR with a
Helium-cooled probe (no SampleCase).

Is this approach feasible? How many liquid nitrogen tank should I order?
I would greatly appreciate it if anyone could share their experience or advice.

Best,

Jun
