In that case if it stops working ,did you try and reset the MAS controller
– i.e. power cycle the unit? I typically advice against such drastic
measures, but it may help finding the cause.

Brian: I checked with a flashlight from the top of the magnet and found that
the stator does flip.
Jochem: I checked the MAS II settings, the masdisp configuration settings and
edhead. There was no setting item that mentions eject. The one thing I do
know is that the eject function sometimes works (it actually is working as
of now, but I am pretty sure that it will stop working soon), which must
mean that the probe settings are fine.
