Howdy All:

We are being asked to change our training policies by the Faculty to try and speed up the training process. Currently users are trained on the 300’s first and then are expected to put in 10-15 hrs of usage before any advanced training is given or they move to higher fields. Currently users receive training within 2 weeks of requesting 300 training. To accumulate hours takes 2-4 weeks depending on how much effort the User puts in. So in theory users can be trained on the 300’s, and then within a month be trained on 400’s and 500’s. I personally don’t see this as a drawn out process?

The Faculty is proposing that we give a written test/quiz and a practical in place of the hours requirement. Is anyone out there doing something similar? if so is it working? Do you like it? Opinions?

One of our concerns is if there is a written part they will just pass the answers around and then it becomes point less. We would still have the practical to evaluate and pass or not pass them. But I just see this as being problematic.

Thanks for your input.

Greg
