I have had this error and it has been discussed in the spinsights Help.
Below is the response from Dan Iverson on this problem:
The most common cause for this is a mis-configured system. The config
command lets you specify the hardware that is in the system. It must
match the actual hardware. For example, if you have 3 RF channels and
config only specifies 2, you will get this error. From a teminal window,
enter
rlogin master1
Then run the acquisition from VJ. After you get the error, in the
terminal window there will be a message similar to
'master1': Exception from: -> 'grad1' <-, Type: 15, ErrorCode: 1204
Where grad1 could be rf2, pfg1, ddr2, etc. That will tell you which
controller is not getting its acodes. Make sure config is set correctly.
To exit from the master1 login, enter
logout
