Hi Fred,
Our main concern here was the type of sprinkler head. The normally
installed glass bulbs are prone to cracking if subjected to the plume of a
quenching magnet.
This could result in the unnecessary releasing of water. Therefore in NMR
rooms, metal element sprinkler heads are specified,
Good luck,

Subject: AMMRL:Stainless steel sprinkler pipes in NMR labs
Hi all-
We are getting a sprinkler system installed in our NMR rooms and a
contractor has said that stainless steel is harder to work with and more
prone to leaks at joints than regular steel. If you have had a sprinkler
system installed have you heard anything along those lines from anyone
involved in the installation?
Thanks in advance!
