Dear Friends
Thank you for all those who responded to my post about RedHat
Linux EL v4 compatibility with Topspin 1.3 PL6. I would like to mention
especially, David Vander Velde, Kurt Wollenberg, John Decatur, Dave
Scott, Clemens Anklin, Sara Kuns, and Feng Qiu.
All of you indicated that Topspin 1.3 with patch level 6 should work
without trouble with RH EL v4 and that indeed turned out to be case.
Primarily the problems I was having related to my Red Hat install
itself (I upgraded from v3), which evidently I did not do well. After a
clean install of RHEL v4, I don't have problems in running Topspin.
Also, before I attempted a clean install of the OS, I installed
Topspin 1.3 sans patch level 6 and I do not know if that had anything
to do with the issues I faced, namely, some run time errors I got from
the Java package.
Thank you for your time.
Rajan
