To introduce myself, I'm the NMR guy for the Department of Chemistry @
Occidental College- a small, private, liberal arts college in the Los
Angeles area. We have a Bruker AC200 (currenty being reconditioned) and a
(Bruker) DPX400 spectrometers. Taking care of these instruments comprise
50% of my duties while doing the same for all the other instrumentation in
the department comprises the rest. I have been reading this group for a
couple of months and find the info here quite informative.
My question is about using a peripheral storage device on the SGI (O2) used
to operate XwinNMR for the (Avance) DPX400. For those who have such a
system, what do you use in such a case? I am thinking about using a ZIP
drive attached to the SCSI port, but the Silicon Graphics folks haven't
been able to give me a definite word on compatibilities. Has anyone done
this or is another external storage method preferably used? I also wonder
about getting appropriate Unix drivers.
Thanks in advance,
Paul
