Hi everyone,
Happy almost Friday! I am writing today to see if anyone may have an installed
HVAC system in their facility. We are currently working with a contract or
for an HVAC upgrade that would provide redundancy that can also fully support
the room in the event of power throttling or any other future changes that
might be implemented for cost savings at the university level. The proposed
contract design includes a 6-ton Liebert PDX floor mounted unit; however,
the contractor is proposing to install directly into the facility. In addition
to the lack of real estate space in the facility, I also have concerns
stemming from introducing vibrational noise into the facility. I was
curious if anyone here has something similar installed in their facility,
or if they all adamantly pushed for installing in a different room. The
current issue I have is fire code prohibits me from installing it in the
hallway outside of the facility; however, I am proposing installing the
unit on the other side of a shared wall in an adjacent lab.
Please let me know if you have any evidence of good/bad vibrational noise
introduced by a unit such as this in an NMR room, or any additional input
you would like to provide. It is all very much appreciated!
