Ken,

I have run Uranium-containing samples for a Cummins student at MIT a while
back. I even did a 1H-1H COSY on one sample and it had a huge range of
chemical shifts so the regular COSY parameters did not work well and had to
be adjusted (many more points along the time t1 domain were needed).

We did not take any special precautions and it worked fine. Here is the
question to ask: When is the last time a sample got broken just from being
inserted and ejected? If the answer is never or next to never, then you
should be fine.

Hi Everyone,

I've had a request to perform 1H and 13C NMR on Uranium (VI) containing
complexes. The question is if it is safe or a hazard to the instrument.
I've been provided papers where it is done in relatively standard NMR setups,
and no mention is made of the fact that Uranium is present in the experimental
NMR section.

Does anyone have experience with this?
