Hello Everyone,
We have a problem with our BLABBH500/100 amplifier. The 1H channel has an error
during use that says: “A mismatch fault / General gating fault.”
The BB channel is working fine, so we can still run 1H decoupled experiments
such as 13C and 19F without issues.
After consulting with Bruker, they agreed to repair the amplifier. However,
upon receiving it, we received an email that it can't be repaired because
of too much dust and rust. They asked if they should dispose of it and send
us a quote for a new one.
This was surprising to me. I checked the amplifier before shipping it and saw
that some rust was only on the round cable connectors; the circuit boards were
fine (see the attached picture). Since the dust and minor rust appear manageable,
I would appreciate your advice.
Should we let Bruker dispose of the amplifier, or should we pay to have it
sent back for possible future use? Considering that only the 1H channel is
affected, can we continue using the BB channel with a new amplifier for
experiments that need three channels?
