Josh, and Mike would you mind sharing pictures of your set-ups? I am not
familiar with the refill Kit.

Thanks

Hi Mike.

I’ve enjoyed this new fill kit as well. It feels a lot safer to use a
braided steel line, and being able to detach from the magnet without waiting
for silicone or latex tubing to thaw has been very handy.

In my hands, I’ve found the same sleeve that works on our Ascend magnets
also fits on the lower part of our UltrashieldPlus magnets. I’ve not tried
that with the Prodigy tank yet, so I can’t address the 13mm seal question.

However, I’d like to advocate for an accessory we purchased to help with
this system. One hurdle to using the new fill kit is the need to remove the
flare fitting from the supply dewar and attach the transfer line using a
wrench – not quite as easy as jamming some tubing on the fitting. To make
attachment more convenient, I got this tool-free adapter that attaches to the
supply’s flare fitting with a long-handle-equipped-collar on one end, and
to the fill kit line on the other:
https://www.rmiorder.com/product/SE/qth-295-1l/LN2-Liquid-Nitrogen-Heavy-Duty-Quick-Turn-Long-T-No-Relief-Valve
Now, we can just walk up to the lN2 dewar and hook up the new braided steel
line without the need for a wrench or swapping out the flare fitting.

I thought others might like to know about it, so here you go.

Thanks. – Josh

Hello - as part of a recent installation of a Neo-400, we received a nice LN2
refill kit from Bruker (Z165788). It contains a braided SS line and on the
magnet side there is a fill adaptor (a hood that goes over the magnet LN2 fil
turret). Inside the adaptor you insert a white clamping sleeve of the proper
diameter. The kit comes with 20, 18.5, and 13 mm sleeves which the instructions
say are for the magnet, BSNL and the prodigy dewar, respectively.

I have been using this refill kit without a problem on our Ascend magnet with
the 20 mm sleeve. However, we also have a Prodigy dewar and an older 500 magnet
with LN2 turrets that have a 13 mm OD (D222/54 cryostat). In trying to use this
kit for both of these fills, I have had absolutely no luck creating a leak-proof
seal with the 13 mm clamping sleeve.

I fear Im overlooking something silly. If anyone is using this refill kit for
their Prodigy dewar fills or a magnet with 13 mm turrets, I'd love to hear from
you as to what's essential for a proper seal!

Cheers,
Mike
