High everyone,
· I’m sending this notice out again, it seems the response is a little low. I thought I would add my 2₵ on this job, I got old just when things got interesting here. This position is an excellent opportunity for someone if they want to make a difference in a fast growing department at a Tier One University. I have been here for 19 years and have had unprecedented control and support over the development of this lab. When it was constructed, I was meeting the architects and contractor not a university appointed proxy. I monitored the construction process on a weekly or sometimes daily basis to make sure they got it right. I have also introduced several changes to our undergraduate lab’s which resulted in our students having a firm foundation in NMR when they graduate. However, there’s still much to be done to bring this lab to a Tier 1 facility. For example a couple of the items for the future would be accumulate a user base to justify acquisition of a dedicated CP/MAS system and submit a proposal in collaboration with the Instructional Assistant Professor
· for a new undergraduate NMR with a large autosampler. There’s two Bruker Advance systems a 600 MHz and 800 MHz and shortly they will be acquiring another 500 MHz in a new building that is currently under construction. I can guarantee this job isn’t boring.
The NMR manager’s position has been posted on the UH website: http://jobs.uh.edu/postings/28017
I have attached the job description as a pdf document. Please distribute as you see fit.
