Dear Spinlanders,
Our Chemistry Department Mercury 300 Autoswitchable probe has suffered
the unfortunate and dreaded broken insert problem. The system (with
Oxford AlOx magnet) is used for our undergraduate education courses and
is due to be in high demand in the spring semester. We just got the
repair estimate from Varian, hence this plea. Does anyone have a
underutilized, non-gradient 13C-1H Dual or 4nuc Autoswitchable or Dual
Broadband 300 (either Varian or Nalorac) probe that they would like to
sell to a land grant University in the far reaches of eastern
Washington? The system does not have field gradients so if you have a
non-PFG probe that you never use anymore we would be willing to trade
either some cash and or a few bushels of wheat for it. In our NMR
Center we have Nalorac probes which I am very happy with and would be
especially interested in for the Chemistry Department instrument. Of
course advice and or comiseration is always welcome.
Thank you for your attention. Have a Happy Thanksgiving Holiday (for my
American colleagues, a Happy Thursday the 23rd for everyone else).
Sincerely,
Greg
