Hello Spinlanders,

Our Bruker AC-200 NMR system's Aspect 3000 computer is experiencing boot
problems. The problem first manifest itself around a year ago. The first
symptom was that the Aspect 3000 computer failed to boot upon system power
up until a few minutes had elapsed. Assumed that circuits had to warm up
before system could boot from 160 Meg hard drive. Presently, system does
not boot at all.

Last running of Twinex (end of summer) to check hard drive found no errors.
System control microprocessor in AC-200 console appears to be running fine.
Still keeping track of liquid He level. Still able to spin, lock, and shim
sample.

When green 'Start' button on console is pressed, computer tries to read from
hard drive. Hard drive read light on computer and on disk unit both light
up and can hear hard drive read heads moving. There is no indication from
disk unit that hard drive has error. Get same response by pressing 'Stop,
Clear, Disk' on front of Aspect 3000. Have tried booting from 8" floppy
using ADAKOS utility disk by pressing 'Stop, Clear, Floppy' on front of
Aspect 3000. There is no evidence of a response from the floppy drive.

If any kind sole has experienced a similar problem with an Aspect 3000
computer, and has found a solution that got the computer up and running,
would appreciate if they would share their solution.

Will be happy to send more information wrt what has been tried to date if
required.

Thank you and kind regards,

Lawrence Byrnes
