Hi All,
I've been asked to help out with moving a Gemini 300 with
R2D2 magnet; it's currently installed in a deep pit, and
it is desired to move it at field (it only needs to be lifted
out of the pit and translated a few feet to the side). I have
no previous experience with R2D2s, and it is not at all clear
how to pick it up; there are no lugs at the top of the magnet
as has been the case with all Oxford, Bruker or Magnex magnets
in my previous experience. The manual makes reference to a
"lifting bar" which attaches to the tops of the LHe stacks,
but no-one has any memory of any such an object.
Can anyone provide me with any words of wisdom about how to
pick up an R2D2?
Thanks,
John Wright
