I would check the manual for the VT unit and see what they have to say
about checking the safety circuits for compliance. Most of the time if
there is a problem with the safety the unit wont heat; unless this is a
home brew controller. In the unit I use there is a hi temp sensor in the
probe, flow meter optical cut off etc., and some hard and soft clip
limits in the software to set extremes. I wonder if perhaps the user
wasnt running the experiment with too much decoupler power. Hard one to
call.
