I have a problem to observe 2H directly using H2 and lk experiments with Varian NMR system console in 800 NMR. I can observe the 2H signal with proper pulse width and power level, but there are symmetric noise peaks 170Hz away from 2H peak with 10%D2O and 90%H2O sample. The noise peaks were almost disappeared when I changed the offset from 0 to -41 Hz (on resonance). I also changed the lock filter without any luck. Actually, it is the same FIDs with/out lock filter on line. I got the same FIDs with H2 and LK experiments. By the way, I run these experiments under VNMRJ 2.2C. I also did not have any problem to run 1d C13.
