Hi folks. Any CDE experts out there? None of my copious sysadmin books tell
me enough about CDE for me to figure this out.
On one of my spectrometers (Ultra 10, Solaris 2.6, VNMR 6.1B) users started
complaining about being unable to use the screen lock on the CDE dashboard.
I confirmed this for all users except root. Root can lock his screen.
I went hunting for files in /usr/dt/bin that may have a permission turned
wrong. Didn't find anything. Tried redoing the contents of
/export/home/wstevens/.dt and that didn't help.
Noting that the process "/usr/dt/bin/dtscreen -mode blank" is what happens
when you lock a screen, I tried entering it at the command line: no go.
Now I see that the /vnmr/bin/makeuser script aborts with message "test:
argument expected". (There are several instances of "test" in the script.)
I also note that in ~wstevens/.dt/errorlog the messages "dtsession: Unable
to lock display due to security restrictions."
Help?
