Hello Spinlanders
We are running WIN-NMR, version 6, under Windows 2000 Professional, and have
encountered no problems since installation. Yesterday, we purchased and
installed Symantec's Norton SystemWorks 2001 Professional Edition. This
group of utilities includes WinFax Basic for sending and receiving faxes.
After installing SystemWorks 2001, when we try to change printer options in
WIN-NMR, a blank line appears where there used to be the currently selected
device driver. If we click 'OK' and then try to access printer setup again,
the selected device driver now shows "WinFax (Photo Quality) on Ne00:". An
attempt to print a spectrum then tries to send the data to WinFax. We can
edit the line in the winnmr.ini file that WIN-NMR has changed and replace
the correct device driver. WIN-NMR then sends data to the printer once
again. If we enter Printer Setup again, the same problem occurs. Does some
kind sole know how to eliminate this problem?
Last week we asked for comments on running HyperNMR under Windows 2000 Pro.
We have learned that the program does not run under Win 2000 Pro. The folks
at Hypercube say that HyperNMR 2.0 is a rather old program that has not been
updated for a long time. They expect to issue a new release that will run
under Win 2000 Pro later this year.
Thank you and kind regards,
Lawrence
