Following the posts today by John Decatur and Lawrence Byrne: IMHO, another
group of people whose economic rights ought to be respected are those who work
as consultants. Consequently, in the spirit of fairness:
-I will henceforth ignore all requests for free advice on how to handle a
particular sample, run a particular experiment, etc., in this group and related
groups, from people who in my judgment should be hiring (and remunerating)
consultants instead.
-I volunteer to collect and repost statistics (without names) on what the going
hourly and daily rates are for consulting work in NMR, which I think might be
of interest to many in this group, and encourage people not to undervalue their
expertise or their time. (If you choose to reply, and want to _remain_
anonymous, answer me, not the list ...)
As the philosophers Bartles & Jaymes used to say, thanks for your support,
