We absorb the cost of MNova and do not pass it on to researchers: reduction
of NMR usage is a serious concern. Also, Topspin is provided by Bruker for
free to the entire campus. For MNova, we maintain 10 concurrent licenses.
People install MNova NMR on their computers and check out licenses from
our local license server. A license is freed once they close MNova or
inactive for 30 min. With 200 registered NMR users annually, and about 50
active users per week we appear to manage with 10 licenses. We also have
one concurrent license of Structure Elucidation and one license for
NMRPredict module for MNova. Total cost is about $8K annually.
