Hi All,
Thank you very much for the suggestions. Changing the file was the Topshim
fix.
On our SampleJet, if you unplug the RS232, there is no power. Simply saying
that the automatic changer is not tty, is enough to get everything working.
Thank you so very much!
Cathy

Hi All
it looks like the issue with the SampleJet and Topspin 3.7 happens when there
is an ethernet and RS232 connection to the SampleJet. Or even if the Samplechanger
is configured as using a tty port.
Disconnect the RS232 and then do cf and remove it from the list of rs232/tty
connections and all should be good.

Hi,
We have recently upgraded to TopSpin 3.7.0 when we replaced an aging computer
with a new linux system run Alma9. We are seeing the same issue with the
SampleJet
When IconNMR is used and a user exits cleanly, commands from the TopSpin command
line to insert samples are not recognized. The sx <holder_number> doesn’t work
and we get a communications error. We can still see and communicate with the
SampleJet using the web interface and a restart of the application from the web
interface resolves the issue.
Best,
Francis

Hi Cathy
the topshim issue is a bug that has recently popped up. The only way to fix
it is to go into the file that controls the defaults and change the parameter
that controls the dimension.
The file is in C:\users\username]\.topspin1\prop or /home/username/.topspin1/prop
and is called topshim.prop . In there is a line called Dimension. False is 1D and
true is 3D. Change it to false and store it. Then it will the topshim window will
pop up with 1D as default.
As for the samplejet do you mean that a command like sx <holder number> does not
work. Do you get an error when you give this command.
Best regards

Hi all,
We just installed Topspin 3.7.0 with our upgrade to Alma9 on our Avance III
400 MHz nanobay. Most things are working pretty well, but we've run into
two problem that are stumping us.
When we open Topshim GUI, the default has it marked as a 3D shim. We want
to change that to a 1D shim, but when we go to the service panel and ask it
to save it, it doesn't. We've tried reloading the defaults, and saving those,
but it doesn't make the changes. Command line topshim is working fine. In fact
topshim is working fine, we just have to change the 1D radio button (and I doubt
our standard user will do that).
The other problem is that If a user starts Icon and exits normally, we can
no longer talk to our SampleJet through the TopSpin command line interface.
If we go through a complete error recovery, we can talk to the SampleJet until
we open Icon. Using Icon seems to always be able to talk to the Sample Jet.
Things we have tried
*
reboot of the spectrometer
*
Once everything was on, cf
*
Reinstalling previous firmware
Nothing has worked so far. I'm just about ready to reinstall Topspin 3.7.0,
thinking that I tested too many things as a user instead of nmrsu. Before
I do that, I'd love to hear if anybody has any suggestions. (Uncharacteristically,
Rover isn't getting back to me.)
Thanks all,
Cathy
